CHANGE

I remember a college professor saying "the only thing constant is change". I guess it's up to us to see that the change is a good one. But our standards, principles, and ethics have undergone such change, I wonder if it is possible to be positive in bringing about truly good changes. Fair changes. By that I do not mean taxing the wealthy to make up for the debt Congress and the President(s) have created. What would be fair about that/? Logic has disappeared in this country. Creating a committee to do the work that the whole Congrress is supposed to do..........what is logical about that.........or, for that matter, democratic. If my own Senator or Representative is not on the Committee, I am not represented. Who is thinking? Anyone? Washington has turned into the biggest dog and pony show ever. But it is no longer entertaining........it is frightening.

I worry for the next generation........for what it has been taught....but more for what it has not. Something so simple as grammer in order that one might communicate effectively and correctly, is not being taught. If it is, it is not being learned. I read a paper written by a young lady who graduated one year early....I would have given her a D on the paper based strictly on the number of grammatical and spelling errors. But what are we teaching about the foundation and basic beliefs of this country. This is America. We speak English here. We came here for religious freedom. I have news for the atheists who find religion so disturbing. We have the right to practice our religion and they have the right to choose not to. They do not have the right to take away or object to our rights. Here's an idea, stand by in silent respect for the human being standing next to you. One good change I see is in the treatment of the mental health patients. We finally have parity in the insurance. Guess they figured out that the brain is part of the human body and therefore technically physical. We need more advocates for mental health. The stigma is still there; but if you talk about your illness, and people see that you are a regular person just like they are except you have bipolar disorder rather than diabetes, it helps strengthen the perception that the mentally ill are not all insane. Think about that when you talk to people. If we are to do our part for good change, we must help change the perception of mental illness by letting people know who we are and that we are "normal" in a different way.

Beethoven suffered from extreme mania

I feel amazing. I talked to someone who "fits" for a couple of hours over coffee and it felt so good to be alive, alert and interested in what someone else was saying. Not to be unkind, but I find that in general people do not want to talk, they want to complain, suggest, criticize, or opine. It grates on my brain.

I tend to be a loner or maybe that isn't quite correct........I love being around my kind of people...........I guess I find myself completely undisturbed and thoroughly engaged by myself for days....My conversations with myself or my dog are quite good actually. But when one cannot work, volunteer or otherwise be involved in the outside world because a rapid cycling brain insures that you don't know what tomorrow will be like, .....................well you can figure the rest of that out..... But I so enjoyed conversing with someone about writing and the human element and then how the disorder affects our lives and finally....how, we are unlike others......we are that square peg that does not fit in the round hole........and............it's a good thing...because part of being someone with bipolar disorder pretty much insures that you are intelligent, creative, artistic, emotional, sensitive, very aware of things, inquisitive, perfectionist, and the list goes on.

A Story: The Lady in the Red Coat

Because all stories begin so, wwe must say, "one uponce a time" before we begin....

And there goes the lady in the red coat who always rolls her socks exactly twice and twines that single braid round her head like a fat chignon magically held in place by two sticks.

She dons a contagious smile that will surely pass from face to face as she greets the A.M. crowd. She is a mysterious one. Only seen passing by in the morning. It’s almost as if she disappears into thin air once she turns the corner by the gray walls of the bank building and heads toward the beach. But surely not with those 4" heels. She must stop somewhere before the beach. And then I’m off in a reverie imagining all exciting adventures and splendors of the lady in the red coat..

Meantime, what has walked through the door but the most gregarious, good looking, (aah, I'm getting a sensation in tmystomach) - gorgeous hunk of a man that I have ever viewed. "Mornin'" in a smooth baritone voice. Dark, almost black hair... there goes my first weakness. and when he raises his head it's direct eye-to-eye contact. The kind that leaves you as vulnerable as if you were stripped down to nothing and he could see right through you.

Green like the leaf of a willow . I'm staring into his eyes. They are a most unusual shade of green and take me in, all the way. Almost speechless, I utter, "Oh those eyes" while thinking "They are likely going to get me into trouble."

"Excuse me for staring, but you have the most unusual and beautiful red hair. Allow me to introduce myself...Timothy Foley. I'm new in the condominiums and the brochure recommended this "Coffee Shoppe" as being close and having a wide assortment of coffees. Do you find it of good quality?" Without a pause, I responded that it has always been "a cut above."

"Aunt Chel, do you mind it so -- the rain? We'd better hurry home, well get drenched in this downpour.!" And then the fog lifted in my brain as my niece tugged my hand "Ah, of course, terribly nice to meet you Mr. Foley" I quickly drained my cup. We charged off, Chrissy pulling me through the door and commenting loudly something about I was absolutely staring back intot the coffee shoppe.

Will I see him again I wondered? or what about the lady with the red coat?

BEAUTY - A VISIT FROM MY DAUGHTER - INTROSPECTION

I had the most uplifting experience over the past five days.. My daughter came to visit me and she appears more healthy and whole than I have seen in her in over ten (10) years of misery, I wasn’t sure she would make it. But G-d has his ways. He directed her toward good people and inspiration to change her life. The daughter I spent time with was calm, self-assured, and happy. The little girl I remember from so long ago.

I love trees because of the deep roots they have. If you listen to your heart and your soul, G-d will take you to the place you belong. and on that journey, He will touch all those who hae been involved. Life is a Miracle!

Amid the justified celebrations over the killing of Osama bin Laden, at first glance it might seem we are no better than the al Qaeda group celebrating over the deaths of thousands of "infidels". But therein liess the difference.....The so-called "infidels" became victims through someone's interpretation of the Koran. Someone decided that these different people of the West (for one) were not innocent people going about their lives according to their own beliefs, but rather were infidels who were to be killed according to the Koran. The result was the war on terror -- the deaths of thousands of innocent Americans.

I thank God that I live in the United States where freedom of religion is a way of life. TOLERANCE is apparently an unknown virtue to the members of al Qaeda.

I thank God for George Bush, President Obama, the intelligence community and the Navy Seals for protecting this country and the rest of the world and removing this one sociopath from our midst.

And I am proud to be an American .... even though the "task" may seem distasteful, he was washed, wrapped in linen and buried within the time period to comply with Islamic law. How many of his victims were given that respect? That is the difference in what America stands for and the chaos of the Middle East.

Being different...the highs and lows....Bipolar Disorder

I have been thinking of writing about my life and thoughts, high and low points. Here is a start:

Life is definitely a journey, not a destination…and those little detours, off- the- map visits, interesting points we delay just to enjoy a moment in time, all make up who we become. So do the breakdowns, complexities, struggles, stumbling blocks and obstacles . . .how we handle this “ just dust in the wind” also determines the me that exists.

But just for kicks, let’s add another twist. Suppose you always felt different, the square block in the round hole: You don’t think the same way and expectations…perfection in the grandiose!

Relationships are never consistent…often ending painfully because you just couldn’t alter that wonderful person you are….you couldn’t compromise if it meant giving up part of you…because that would be suicide of the soul.

Communication! Oh what a difficult thing that is, even among those who “fit” and share common interests. But when you apply different meanings to the same words, thoughts, sentences… it is really remarkable that even basic necessities get met. Unfortunately, sharing of ideas with these “different” people is most often disappointing, at best. …. And what a shame that is…. Who knows what brilliance might be obscured in what they have to say. Not to mention the difficulty they face in trying to understand the rest of the world’s hidden meanings.

But, most of all, if you keep your eyes open, your expectations to yourself, you will be amazed to discover that very little is what it seems…especially people.

I haven't written in my blog much....I let someone affect my actions. No More. This is therapeutic for me.

Today I received an email note from a bipolar friend in crisis. He had gone into a severe depressed state. I was honored that he contacted me. It allowed me to give a little of myself to someone else. I am only sorry that I could not go meet him at the pdoc's office and wait with him. When your mind cannot be controlled....when you are not sure exactly what is wrong, but you know something is very very wrong.....and, you also know no one but another who has walked in those shoes can understand....it can leave you feeling very alone and vulnerable. I have been there....it can be terrifying....the worst part is not knowing exactly what is wrong...and then in the midst of it, having a rapid mood cycle....I think if the earth all of a sudden stopped rotating and there was no gravity and we went flying off into space....Yes! That would probably feel like it feels to be in the no man's land of bipolar disorder at its finest. Who can relate?

I am glad to report that my friend felt somewhat better after seeing the pdoc..... but his crisis brought back in my face, my situation and the reality that it can be me at any time. That is why I need to begin writing again. It is part of my therapy to stay healthy. So, let's see how faithful I can be to this journal/blog.
And to my friend, peace, hope, and stability.

I lost my soulmate in 1997. No one could ever replace him. I met hm at the apartment swimming pool and he followed me upstairs for a scotch and music. The amazing thing: he knew where the scotch and glasses were...."Lucky guess?" I inquired. "No, I'm a bartender"...and so it went for four years. He died from complications of surgery from a car accident. I think of him daily....and I thinkkkkkkk how lucky I was to hve had four years of perfect love.

He got me a pupy, a Golden Chow Retriever....sweet and loving.. I finally had to put her to sleep this week. She was my last tie to Tim. a double whmmy. I held her head and fed her peanut butter while she peacefll left thig room. I'd like o think they are together. Hmmm.

QUIETLY OBAMA'S CITIZENSHIP CASE REACHES THE SUPREME COURT

AP - WASHINGTON D.C. -

In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama's qualifications for the presidency, the group "Americans for Freedom of Information" has Released copies of President Obama's college transcripts from Occidental College . Released today, the transcript school indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship.

This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama's detractors have been seeking. Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim. The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama's legitimacy and qualification to serve as President article titled, "Obama Eligibility Questioned," leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obama's first official visit to the U.K. In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments concerning Obama's legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey . This lawsuit claims Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. Donofrio's case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama's citizenship or qualification to serve as president.

Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama's campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U..S. Attorney general, Eric Holder. Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter...

While I've little interest in getting in the middle of the Obama birth issue, Paul Hollrah over at FSM did so yesterday and believes the issue can be resolved by Obama answering one simple question: What passport did he use when he was shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi ?

So how did a young man who arrived in New York in early June 1981, without the price of a hotel room in his pocket, suddenly come up with the price of a round-the-world trip just a month later?

And once he was on a plane, shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi , what passport was he offering when he passed through Customs and Immigration?

The American people not only deserve to have answers to these questions, they must have answers. It makes the debate over Obama's citizenship a rather short and simple one.

Q: Did he travel to Pakistan in 1981, at age 20?

A : Yes, by his own admission.

Q: What passport did he travel under?

A: There are only three possibilities.

1) He traveled with a U.S. .. Passport,

2) He traveled with a British passport, or

3) He traveled with an Indonesia passport.

Q: Is it possible that Obama traveled with a U.S. Passport in 1981?

A: No. It is not possible. Pakistan was on the U.S. .. State Department's "no travel" list in 1981.

Conclusion: When Obama went to Pakistan in 1981 he was traveling either with a British passport or an Indonesian passport.

If he were traveling with a British passport that would provide proof that he was born in Kenya on August 4, 1961, not in Hawaii as he claims. And if he were traveling with an Indonesian passport that would tend to prove that he relinquished whatever previous citizenship he held, British or American, prior to being adopted by his Indonesian step-father in 1967.

Whatever the truth of the matter, the American people need to know how he managed to become a "natural born" American citizen between 1981 and 2008..

Given the destructive nature of his plans for America, as illustrated by his speech before Congress and the disastrous spending plan he has presented to Congress, the sooner we learn the truth of all this, the better.

If you Don't care that Your President is not a natural born Citizen and in Violation of the Constitution, then Delete this, and then lower your American Flag to half-staff, because the U.S. Constitution is already on life-support, and won't survive much longer.

If you do care then Forward this to as many patriotic Americans as you can, because our country is being looted and ransacked!

I am not like you...There is the spirit of compassion for all people which I share with the Liberals. But I have a different approach. I do not believe any person in this country should lack for food, shelter, medical/psychological care, education and lobe. But my road is far different.. I am an idealist...I AM A 1969'S HIPPIE BY HEART. But I believe that that which we learn and apply; that which we give of ourself (not the govetnment or someone else) is what makes us who we are.

I am bipolar and you will never uderstand the unique persona nor the expectations of achievement, human empathy, compassion, commitment to improving the human species through self reliance, creativity, tolerance, and lookking for solutions out of the box.. You willl never understand the depath of commitment, the human joy and pain in watching things in progress...in watchng the stigma of the inenlightened on the mentally unique....for they too have their talents.different By joining their thoughts with those of the "normal" mind what might we discover. STEP OUT OF THE BOX. THERE ARE OTHER WAYS TO THING! Did it ever occur to you that any mentally/emotionally "impaired"people simply have a different wiring in the brain.......and that sometimes a different in writing can lead to expected knowledgement and advancement.

My basic philosopy is to listen to all persons, the great and the small they too have their theories and vision. By weighing our values first --- those which brought this great nation to the most admired free nation, a Republic, a democracy, a capitalist society. with the rights to the pursuits of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness -----(without interference from the federal government expcept in matters of protecting the nation from foreight enemies of war and providing for those things which a state cannot provide itseld.

The Truth About the Health Care Bills - Michael Connelly, Ret. Constitutional Attorney

Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.

The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business, and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats, and most of them will not be health care professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled by the government.

However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.

The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S. Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama Administration authority in a number of different areas over the lives of the American people, and the businesses they own.

The irony is that the Congress doesn't have any authority to legislate in most of those areas to begin with! I defy anyone to read the text of the U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of Congress to regulate health care.

This legislation also provides for access, by the appointees of the Obama administration, of all of your personal healthcare direct violation of the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution information, your personal financial information, and the information of your employer, physician, and hospital. All of this is a protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into oblivion regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide...

If you decide not to have healthcare insurance, or if you have private insurance that is not deemed acceptable to the Health Choices Administrator appointed by Obama, there will be a tax imposed on you. It is called a tax instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment. However, that doesn't work because since there is nothing in the law that allows you to contest or appeal the imposition of the tax, it is definitely depriving someone of property without the due process of law.

So, there are three of those pesky amendments that the far left hate so much, out the original ten in the Bill of Rights, that are effectively nullified by this law It doesn't stop there though.

The 9th Amendment that provides: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people;

The 10th Amendment states: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Under the provisions of this piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people nor the states are going to have any rights or powers at all in many areas that once were theirs to control.

I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you get the idea. This is not about health care; it is about seizing power and limiting rights... Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of both houses of Congress to "be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution." If I was a member of Congress I would not be able to vote for this legislation or anything like it, without feeling I was violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway, I would hope the American people would hold me accountable.

For those who might doubt the nature of this threat, I suggest they consult the source, the US Constitution, and Bill of Rights. There you can see exactly what we are about to have taken from us.

The Truth About the Health Care Bills - Michael Connelly, Ret. Constitutional Attorney

Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.

The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business, and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats, and most of them will not be health care professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled by the government.

However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.

The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S. Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama Administration authority in a number of different areas over the lives of the American people, and the businesses they own.

The irony is that the Congress doesn't have any authority to legislate in most of those areas to begin with! I defy anyone to read the text of the U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of Congress to regulate health care.

This legislation also provides for access, by the appointees of the Obama administration, of all of your personal healthcare direct violation of the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution information, your personal financial information, and the information of your employer, physician, and hospital. All of this is a protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into oblivion regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide...

If you decide not to have healthcare insurance, or if you have private insurance that is not deemed acceptable to the Health Choices Administrator appointed by Obama, there will be a tax imposed on you. It is called a tax instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment. However, that doesn't work because since there is nothing in the law that allows you to contest or appeal the imposition of the tax, it is definitely depriving someone of property without the due process of law.

So, there are three of those pesky amendments that the far left hate so much, out the original ten in the Bill of Rights, that are effectively nullified by this law It doesn't stop there though.

The 9th Amendment that provides: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people;

The 10th Amendment states: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Under the provisions of this piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people nor the states are going to have any rights or powers at all in many areas that once were theirs to control.

I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you get the idea. This is not about health care; it is about seizing power and limiting rights... Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of both houses of Congress to "be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution." If I was a member of Congress I would not be able to vote for this legislation or anything like it, without feeling I was violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway, I would hope the American people would hold me accountable.

For those who might doubt the nature of this threat, I suggest they consult the source, the US Constitution, and Bill of Rights. There you can see exactly what we are about to have taken from us.

BIPOLAR DISORDER
I've been on a cyclical downswing since September. Dr. S and I have adjusted the pills to the nth degree and I think we have them to about the best we caan do. My family situation is good. There are no reasons - situational - for me to feel this way...it's just one of those normal "timed" down periods. So I'm fighting the best I can with walking and doing as much activity as possible. I've been reading a lot.. I wish the creative flow would hit me, a little lower and it will. Please someone comment and let me know if you aare still watching.
